About Us
SinHambre is an official North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) Affinity Group led by volunteers from the North Texas Hispanic and Latino Community. We are dedicated to creating a community movement with a goal of fighting hunger and supporting the food bank.
Sharing food is such an integral part of Hispanic and Latino culture. We believe our community has a meaningful role to play in our collective effort to combat hunger and make healthy food accessible.
As a community movement, SinHambre members spend time volunteering at the food bank, fundraising and supporting NTFB financially, making valuable connections for the food bank, and raising awareness of hunger in North Texas. We also educate our community on healthy food choices as well as provide advice and feedback to NTFB leadership regarding Hispanic and Latino community services and engagement.
Each year, we aim to offer at least four volunteer shifts for SinHambre members and participate in numerous campaigns and other ways to get involved. We also attend NTFB flagship events like Empty Bowls and Taste of the Cowboys.
We are passionate about enhancing awareness of food insecurity, educating our neighbors on what they can do to help, and making meaningful contributions to NTFB's goal to close the hunger gap in North Texas.
